    1. I subscribe to the Fat Quarter Shop’s Hoffman Batik Fat Quarter Club and their Holiday of the Month Club.. and I subscribe to Keepsake Quilting Bali Fat Quarter Batik of the month club. I really like all three of these clubs.

    2. I want to thank you for your Youtube video about how to make the star for the Urban Starburst quilt pattern. I have watched it over and over and finally have two blocks made!!! I plan to make a queen size quilt so just 38 more to go!! HAHA Without your video I would never have figured it out.

  1. I couldn’t figure out how to download the Peekaboo Wonky Log Cabin paper pieced template so I could print some off.

    1. Hi! Thank you so much for letting me know.. I just went in and updated the links and tested them and they seem to be working now. Let me know if you still can’t access them. Thanks!!!

    1. Very strange, when i click on the link in my message it takes me to Arizona, but when i click on the same link from the templates and cutting directions page it takes me to Louisiana. Maybe I’m just tired.

      1. You are not tired! I went through all the links, and the link in the cutting directions does take you to Louisiana. I have updated the link in the cutting directions and it now works. I have tested it several times. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention!!

    1. Thank you so much! My plan for 2023 is to release the pattern for the State on their National Day. For the first half of the year the release will be on a Wednesday and the second half of the year will be on a Thursday. I am going to revisit the blocks I did last year and update patterns, sizes, and try to make the blocks without having to print templates. So check back each week for the release of the State blocks!! Thank you again for following me on this State Block journey.

  2. I saw on your blog you were thinking of doing a bag each month on the third week. Did I miss it or did life happen and that went by the wayside for the time being? No complaints just if I missed it I wanted to try and find it. I’m surprised you can do as much as you do and am very glad for what you do produce especially when you use materials from your stash instead of a kit. I don’t normally want to make the same quilt as everyone else and your choices sometimes help me choose better from my own stash. Thank you.

    1. Thank you! I really wanted to schedule a bag in a month, it just is one of my projects that has had to get put aside right now. I think I was overly optimistic about what I could get done, but it is my intention to do a bag. I just don’t think I can do it once a month. Thank you so much for following and asking about it, it keeps me on my toes!

  3. Carrie I was wondering if the sashing stips on the designer mystery blocks will help me get more consistent blocks. They are not off by more than a quarter of an inch but with the setting blocks should I cut the sashing bigger and then square up the blocks. Since you are already sashing yours I thought you might be able to tell me what you did to get everything even. I have read the pattern but don’t want to cut until I get all the blocks made. I only have 6 done but plan to get after it real soon. Love your content on your channel Thanks for your help.

    1. My blocks aren’t perfect either, but I put the sashing on and when I put the rows together it all seems to work. I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless they are way off, it all seems to work itself out in the end.

  4. hi Carrie, i am following your tula pink butterfly videos and i love them .thank you! i just started sewing my 1st 2 blocks.my intersection blocks are 10 ” and not 10 1/2″..should i start over? will that 1/2 ” make a difference? i really tried to be exact with cutting and sewing 1/4″. not sure what happened? thanks, terry t

    1. Hi Terry, I’m not sure what happened. I would move on to the next blocks and see how those come out and you can come back to these in the future when you get more comfortable. Have you tried a steam iron and really give your seams a good iron? Sometimes that helps. Some of my blocks were a little off, a 1/2 inch might be too much, but like I said you can always come back to the blocks in the future and re-do them. Thanks, Carrie

  5. Hello,

I’m looking at state blocks and I didn’t see one for Mississippi. Will you be doing one? I hope you will. I am from Mississippi and would be very grateful if you did one.

    Thanks,
    Linda Smith

    1. Hi Linda: Thanks so much for asking! I am trying to put out the State Blocks on their National State Day this year. I have Mississippi planned for November 30th, which is National Mississippi day!

  6. I watched your YouTube tutorial for a tessellated quilt that looked like stained glass. I loved the quilt and tutorial so subscribed and joined your website to get the pattern. However I have been unable to find the pattern and can’t find the tutorial now. Could you please advise where I can find these? Thank you.

  7. Hi Carrie,
I am working on the Arkansas block, but I don’t see the templates in the download. Maybe there are some pages missing? Because I see the block twice and one block is labeled differently then when you are talking in the video. I am a template gal that has a printer. 🙂 Thank you for all you are doing with this project.

    1. Thank you so much. I am trying to recreate them without templates, but I did update the Arkansas pattern in the free resource library with some templates. The letters on the templates are different than my rotary cutting directions, but just replace the letters where needed.

  8. Hello! I am am ready to start my first block for the Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery BOM. I saw that you participated and posted tutorials for each block for the 2022 version. Do you plan to do the same for the 2023 BOM?

  9. I have the second edition quilt pattern and kit for the Butterfly Quilt. I am wondering if I should prewash the fabric in the quilt. I have asked at several local quilting stores and have received differing opinions, so I decided to go by what you suggest.

    1. I didn’t prewash my fabrics, I think it is personal preference from everything I have heard. I think if you don’t prewash and then quilt it and wash it, it brings out the quilting a little more?? I personally like that look, but I think in the end it is just your own preference what you want to do!

  10. I am new to quilting and need to make a (4) pickle dish squares. The Blocks should be 12.5″
    Need help in starting 🙂
