2026 Fat Quarter Shop Spooky Box Unboxing
Discover the Magic
Unveil the 2026 Spooky Box
Spooky season is here! 🎃👻
My 2026 Spooky Box from Fat Quarter Shop has arrived, and this is one box I look forward to opening every single year! I love Halloween, so of all the themed mystery boxes Fat Quarter Shop offers, the Spooky Box is always my favorite.
This year’s box actually arrived on August 31, which was earlier than I expected. Between the early arrival and that adorable box design, I went into this unboxing with some pretty high hopes.
So, was the 2026 Spooky Box worth the wait?
Spoiler alert: this might be my favorite one yet!
What's Inside the Spooky Box?
Unravel the Mystery of the Spooky Box
The Spooky Box is a limited-edition, Halloween-themed mystery box from Fat Quarter Shop. Part of the fun is not knowing exactly what you’re going to receive until you open it.
This year’s box included a mix of fabric, patterns and sewing-room goodies, with several items made exclusively for Fat Quarter Shop or specifically for the Spooky Box.
Let’s see what was hiding inside!
Purrs & Boos Jolly Bar
First out of the box was a Purrs & Boos Jolly Bar by Elena Amo for Moda Fabrics, with a listed value of $24.98.
The Jolly Bar contains 5″ x 10″ pieces featuring a Halloween palette of blush pink, pumpkin orange, cream and black, with prints that include cats, ghosts, potion bottles, stars, spiders and pumpkins.
I already knew I loved this collection, so I was definitely happy to find more of it in the box!
Listed Value: $24.98
Cats in the Cradle Pattern
Along with the Jolly Bar, I received the Cats in the Cradle pattern.
This was a fun bonus because it gives me another option for using the Purrs & Boos fabrics. And, considering I have a black cat, a Halloween cat quilt feels particularly appropriate around here!
Kitty Cat Phone Stand
This might be one of the most unusual things I’ve received in one of these boxes!
The Kitty Cat Phone Stand is a Fat Quarter Shop exclusive. It’s designed to hold a phone while you’re sewing, but it can also hold a tablet, e-reader, small design board or chart.
And yes, my phone went straight into it during the unboxing. 😂
This is one of those notions I didn’t know I needed until it appeared in front of me.
Listed value of $12.98
Betty the Bat Tape Measure + Zipper Pouch
Next came not one, but two Betty the Bat goodies!
The Betty the Bat Tape Measure and Mini Canvas Zipper Pouch are both practical little sewing-room accessories dressed up for Halloween.
I actually keep zipper pouches beside my sewing machine for presser feet and other small items, so the Betty pouch will be replacing one of my very plain ones. I also keep little tape measures all over the house and sewing room, which makes this another item I know I’ll actually use.
Listed value of $16.96
Spooky Squad Woven Quilt Labels
How cute are Halloween quilt labels?!
The Spooky Squad Sewing Quilt Labels are a Spooky Box exclusive set of eight woven labels featuring cats, rabbits, pumpkins and ghosts in the same fun color palette used throughout the box.
They’re designed to be tucked into quilt bindings, bags, mug mats and other handmade projects.
I still have more Halloween sewing to finish this year, so these will definitely be put to use.
Listed value of $10.98
Glow-in-the-Dark Thread
5.48Now THIS was fun.
The box includes a 200-yard spool of WonderFil 40-weight white glow-in-the-dark polyester thread, with a listed value of $5.48.
The thread appears subtle in daylight and then glows when the lights go out. You could use it to quilt spiderwebs, moons, lettering or other little Halloween details that reveal themselves in the dark.
I’ve never had glow-in-the-dark thread before, so I’m excited to find a project for this one!
Listed value of $5.48
Sweet Brew Quilt Pattern
And then we got to the pattern that pretty much sealed the deal for me.
The Sweet Brew Quilt Pattern is a Fat Quarter Shop exclusive featuring patchwork candy and stars above a bubbling cauldron.
My reaction when I pulled it out of the box?
I’m making it. 😂🎃
The finished quilt measures 27″ x 48″, and a finishing kit is available to pair with the Purrs & Boos Jolly Bar included in the box.
I especially love the little bat fabric used for the binding. This one is absolutely going onto my project list.
Listed value of $11.98
My Thoughts
Is the 2026 Spooky Box Worth It?
For me, this year’s answer is a very enthusiastic YES.
Mystery boxes can be a gamble because there’s always a chance you’ll end up with a few things that aren’t really your style. But when I finished opening this one, I realized something unusual:
I will use everything in this box.
I love the Purrs & Boos fabric, the Sweet Brew pattern immediately went onto my sewing list, I’ll use the phone stand at my desk, Betty the Bat is both adorable and useful, the quilt labels will find their way into my Halloween projects, and I’ve never had glow-in-the-dark thread to experiment with before.
That makes the 2026 Fat Quarter Shop Spooky Box a winner for me and quite possibly…
🎃 BEST BOX YET?!
