What’sIn The Box? May 2026
Tula Pink Floral Reef Unboxing + Primitive Gatherings Quilt Box
There’s nothing better than a good quilting mail day… especially when the boxes are overflowing with fabric, quilt projects, and creative inspiration ✨📦 In this edition of What’s In The Box?! I’m opening two of my favorite quilting subscriptions: the newest Pink Door Fabrics box featuring Tula Pink’s vibrant Floral Reef collection and the latest Primitive Gatherings bi-monthly quilt box. From ocean-inspired fabrics and custom notions to Americana quilt along updates and cozy log cabin projects, this mail day was packed with color, creativity, and plenty of future sewing plans.
Pink Door Fabrics Box – Tula Pink Floral Reef
The newest Pink Door Fabrics box arrived, and this one was packed full of ocean-inspired color and creativity. This subscription featured the brand-new Floral Reef collection by Tula Pink, and the colors are absolutely stunning in person. Bright gradients, playful sea life, bold stripes, sharks, shells, waves, and rich saturated colorways made this one of the most vibrant fabric releases yet.
One of my favorite things about the Pink Door Box subscription is that it feels like more than just fabric. Along with the full Floral Reef fabric bundle and coordinating solids, this box also included custom zippers, Renaissance ribbons, woven labels, webbing, an enamel pin, collectible scissors, and even custom Floral Reef playing cards. The playing cards honestly surprised me the most because they are absolutely gorgeous and something my mom and I will actually use during our cribbage games.
The featured projects this time included a beautifully structured bag pattern from Sew Sweetness and a bold geometric quilt pattern from Jaybird Quilts. Both patterns really showcase the movement and color variation in the Floral Reef fabrics. The bag pattern especially caught my attention because the ribbons and webbing coordinate so perfectly with the collection.
I also shared what I plan to do with my growing Tula Pink fabric collection. After collecting fabrics from several Pink Door boxes, previous quilt projects, and kits over the years, I’ve decided to use them for my upcoming Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along. I’ll be creating both the 1920s and 1930s sampler quilts using my Tula Pink stash, which I think is going to create some incredibly colorful and unique quilts.
Overall, this was another incredibly fun and high-quality box. The fabrics, notions, and exclusive extras made it feel like opening a creative treasure chest from the bottom of a neon coral reef 🌊✨
Primitive Gatherings Box – Americana & Lucky Little Logs
The newest Primitive Gatherings bi-monthly quilt box arrived, and once again, it was filled with beautiful fabrics, quilt projects, and of course… the famous caramels. This subscription continues to be one of my favorite quilting boxes because the value and fabric quality are consistently excellent.
This month’s box included the next section of the ongoing Americana quilt along. The newest installment focused on flying geese and half square triangles using rich, deep red fabrics that felt classic without being overly patriotic. Even though red is not usually my go-to color palette, these fabrics were so rich and saturated that I decided to fully commit to the quilt along.
I finally gathered my background fabric as well, thanks to my mom coming to the rescue with several yards of white fabric from her stash. Now that I have everything together, I’m officially ready to start sewing the Americana blocks and seeing where the design develops. Right now, I’m guessing it may turn into some sort of flag-inspired layout, but I honestly have no idea yet and that’s part of the fun.
The box also included a gorgeous Lucky Little Logs quilt kit featuring earthy green Marcus Fabrics prints and a classic log cabin design. The collection had a cozy vintage feel with deep greens, tans, beiges, and soft traditional prints that reminded me of designers like Kim Diehl and Pam Buda. The fabrics felt incredibly soft, and the entire palette gave off that warm “old quilt in a farmhouse cabinet” kind of feeling.
Log cabin quilts are always satisfying to sew because the blocks slowly build outward in layers, almost like quilting spirals disguised as squares. Even though this quilt finishes at 71″ x 71″, I may end up making a smaller version because I really love the color palette and simple design.
I also shared progress on my Thrive quilt along, which my mom and I have been working on together. Let’s just say… we somehow continue managing to sew easy blocks incorrectly while talking too much during sewing sessions 😂 But after ripping apart entire sections and redoing blocks, everything is finally coming together correctly and it’s looking really pretty.

Final Thoughts
Opening quilting boxes like these always feels a little like opening creative possibilities for future projects ✨ Between the vibrant colors of the Floral Reef collection, the cozy vintage-inspired fabrics from Primitive Gatherings, ongoing quilt alongs, and all the fun extras packed into these subscriptions, there is so much inspiration sitting on my sewing table right now. I love seeing how different fabric styles and quilt projects spark new ideas, and I already know many of these fabrics are going to find their way into future quilts, bags, and my upcoming Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along. If you enjoy quilting mail days as much as I do, these boxes were definitely a fun one to open and share!
